Shopify Plus Agency With In-House Developers

We are a Shopify Plus Partner. The developers who scope your store are the same people who build it: B2B pricing, checkout logic and ERP sync, with no subcontractors.

The short answer

A Shopify Plus agency is a development and growth partner that builds and runs stores on Shopify's enterprise plan. Front Row is a Shopify Plus Partner with in-house developers. We build B2B and wholesale pricing, checkout customizations with Shopify Functions, product customizers and ERP inventory sync, and we do the work ourselves.

What does a Shopify Plus agency do?

A Shopify Plus agency designs, builds and improves stores on the Plus plan. That covers the storefront, but the harder work sits behind it: wholesale pricing rules, checkout logic, custom apps and the connection to the ERP that holds your real inventory. Plus gives you the tools. The agency decides how to use them for your catalog and your customers.

Front Row is a Shopify Plus Partner, and our developers are on staff. We do not hand your project to an outside shop once the contract is signed. Our web development group builds the custom pieces. The person who writes your discount logic can explain it to your operations team, and the same team supports it after launch. That matters most on custom work, where a wrong assumption costs weeks.

We work with brands that sell direct to consumers, brands that sell to retailers and distributors, and brands that do both from one store. Front Row has sold into retail since 1973, so we understand wholesale terms, price breaks and order minimums as an operator would, not just as a feature list.

Who Hires a Shopify Plus Ecommerce Agency Like Ours

  • Manufacturers and brands adding wholesale or dealer ordering to an existing DTC store.
  • Merchants on Magento, BigCommerce or standard Shopify who have outgrown checkout or API limits.
  • Brands that sell customized products and need a customizer tied to pricing and production.
  • Operations teams tired of spreadsheets and re-keying between Shopify and NetSuite.
  • Marketing leaders who suspect their ad reports miss phone and draft-order sales.

How We Work

In-House Shopify Plus Developers, Not Subcontractors

Many agencies sell the project and subcontract the code. We build it. Our developers write the Liquid, the Functions and the apps, and they sit in the same meetings as your team.

That changes three things you can feel on a project.

  • Scope is estimated by the person who will write the code.
  • Questions get answered in a day, not routed through an account manager.
  • You own the code and the credentials from the first commit.

B2B and Wholesale

One Store for Retail and Wholesale Buyers

Plus lets you serve dealers and distributors beside consumers, with company accounts, catalogs and payment terms. The decisions that matter are how your price tiers work and who sees them. Get those wrong and your reps end up approving orders by email again.

We map your current price sheets first, then build the rules so a buyer sees the right price without calling your sales team. Reps keep their time for relationships instead of quoting and re-keying orders. Buyers reorder on their own schedule, at their own price, any hour of the day.

  • Company accounts with several locations and buyers.
  • Catalogs per customer tier, with volume breaks.
  • Net terms and order minimums that match your price sheet.

Custom Logic

Checkout Functions and Product Customizers

Shopify Functions let us change how discounts, shipping and delivery options behave at checkout. They run on Shopify's servers, so they stay fast.

For brands that sell personalized products, we build the customizer too. That includes the canvas, the pricing per element and the files your production team prints from. The price a customer sees, the price in the cart and the job ticket on your floor all come from one source.

  • Estimated delivery dates shown before payment.
  • Percentage discounts with a dollar cap.
  • Price breaks displayed in the cart, not just at checkout.

Integration

NetSuite and ERP Inventory Sync

A store that oversells is worse than a slow one. We connect Shopify to the system that knows what is on the shelf, so the number a buyer sees is the number you can ship.

The sync runs on Shopify's Admin API, NetSuite's API (SuiteTalk and REST) and a NetSuite-authoritative model, with a drift check that flags mismatches before customers find them.

How much does Shopify Plus cost, and what does an agency add?

Shopify lists Plus at $2,300 a month on a three-year term, or $2,500 a month on a one-year term. Agency work is a separate budget on top of that.

Shopify may also add a variable platform fee based on your revenue and business model, so confirm the full fee with Shopify. Agency cost depends on scope. The ranges below are published third-party estimates for the US market, not Front Row prices.

Typical Shopify Plus agency budgets (third-party estimates, 2026)
WorkTypical rangeWhat moves it
Lean migration$25,000 to $50,000Catalog size, redirects, theme changes
Mid-range build$40,000 to $80,000Custom design, apps, integrations
Full implementation$50,000 to $250,000+B2B, custom checkout, ERP, international
Monthly retainer$10,000 to $15,000 for a standard Plus retainerHours, number of workstreams

Quotes far outside these ranges deserve a question, because a very low number often hides missing scope and a very high one often hides overhead. We scope in lines, not lump sums, so you see where each dollar goes. Billing is hybrid and quoted case by case: fixed-scope projects, retainers or a mix, with no minimum commitment. Budget a 15 to 20 percent buffer for scope you discover mid-project.

Our own timelines run 4 to 8 weeks for a focused storefront redesign, 8 to 12 weeks for a full migration and 12 to 16 or more weeks when an ERP or custom app is involved.

Is Shopify Plus worth it, and when should you upgrade?

Plus is worth it when a limit on standard Shopify is costing you money, and not before.

Signs you have hit a limit

  • You need more than three B2B catalogs, catalogs for a single account, or deposits on wholesale orders.
  • Checkout needs custom logic that apps cannot deliver cleanly.
  • You run heavy sales or launches and need higher API and checkout capacity.
  • You sell in several regions or brands and want to manage them together.

If none of these apply, a well-run standard store may serve you for another year. We will say so. A Shopify Plus partner who only sells upgrades is not much help.

If you are weighing a platform move, our Shopify migration team can map what changes before you commit.

How do you set up B2B and wholesale on Shopify Plus?

You set up B2B on Plus by modeling each buyer as a company with locations, then assigning catalogs, price rules and payment terms to them.

A Shopify B2B ecommerce agency earns its fee on the pricing model, and our Shopify agency team starts there. The platform handles the structure. Your price sheets decide how it gets configured.

  1. Audit your price sheets We collect every tier, break and exception your reps use today, including the ones that live in someone's head.
  2. Model companies and catalogs Dealers, distributors and key accounts become companies with their own locations and catalogs.
  3. Build the pricing rules Tiered pricing, price breaks, order minimums and capped discounts go in as rules, not manual edits.
  4. Connect payment terms and tax Net terms, tax exemptions and credit checks follow your finance process.
  5. Test with real buyers A few friendly accounts place real orders before the whole list gets an invite.

Wholesale and retail can share one catalog or run apart. We usually keep one product record and vary price by customer, so inventory stays in one place.

How does Shopify tiered pricing and wholesale pricing work?

Shopify tiered pricing gives different customers different prices, and price breaks lower the unit price as quantity rises. You can combine both.

Tiered pricing

A tier is a price level attached to a customer group, such as dealer, distributor or national account. The buyer logs in and sees their tier.

Price breaks

A price break reduces the unit price at set quantities, for example at 12, 48 and 144 units. We show the breaks in the cart too, so buyers see the saving before checkout.

Capped discounts

A percentage discount can get expensive on a large order. We have built a percentage-off discount with a dollar cap and collection targeting, so a promotion cannot exceed what you planned to give.

Wholesale pricing also needs governance. Decide who can change a price, how changes are logged and how a price list gets retired. We document these rules during the build, so your team is not guessing a year later why a distributor sees a certain number.

What can Shopify Functions do for checkout?

Shopify Functions are small pieces of custom code that run inside Shopify's checkout to change discounts, delivery options, payment methods or validation.

Only Plus stores can run custom apps built with Functions. Some operations, such as changing a cart line's price or setting payment terms at checkout, are also Plus only. That is one reason brands upgrade.

What we build with them

  • Discount logic that mixes collections, quantities and customer tiers.
  • Delivery customizations that rename, hide or reorder shipping options.
  • Estimated delivery dates shown at checkout, so buyers know when the order lands.
  • Validation that blocks an order below a minimum or above a limit.

For My Custom Golf Ball we built an estimated delivery date at checkout, a cart price-break display and a product customizer. For a playground equipment brand we built percentage-based shipping for products priced from $200 to more than $31,000.

Functions replace the old approach of editing checkout templates. Our Shopify app development team packages them as apps your staff can adjust without a developer.

How do you sync Shopify Plus inventory with NetSuite?

You sync inventory by making NetSuite the source of truth and sending Shopify a calculated number, never letting the two systems edit each other.

We built this for a Shopify Plus brand that runs NetSuite. Shopify never sets stock levels on its own. NetSuite quantities flow in, we subtract demand that has not yet reached NetSuite, and the result goes to Shopify.

Shopify plus agency: diagram of NetSuite inventory flowing into a calculation step that subtracts pending Shopify demand, then into Shopify, with a drift check looping back to NetSuite
NetSuite stays authoritative. Shopify receives available stock after pending demand, and a drift check catches mismatches.
  1. Read NetSuite quantities NetSuite holds the on-hand count by item and location.
  2. Subtract pending demand Orders placed on Shopify but not yet in NetSuite reduce what shows as available.
  3. Write to Shopify The projected number updates Shopify inventory through the Admin API.
  4. Reconcile drift A scheduled check compares both sides and reports any item that has wandered.

Orders travel the other way. Our order converter turns Shopify sales orders into NetSuite import files on a daily run. The full approach is on our NetSuite Shopify integration page.

How do you choose Shopify Plus experts or a partner agency?

Choose a Shopify Plus partner agency by checking its standing in Shopify's directory, then testing whether the people who sell you the project will also build it.

Questions to ask

  • Who writes the code, and are they employees or subcontractors?
  • Can we see live Plus stores with B2B, custom checkout or ERP work?
  • Do you give an itemized estimate and regular check-ins?
  • Who owns the code, repositories and credentials?
  • What happens in the 30 days after launch, and after that?

Ask to meet the developers, not just the sales lead. Look for strength in two or three services rather than a promise to do everything. We build, integrate and market Shopify stores, which is a connected set. We do not run your customer service desk.

You can also read our Mountain High Outfitters case study, a Magento to Shopify move that produced 52 percent more orders, 4.5 percent higher cart conversion and 25 percent more revenue.

What mistakes do Shopify Plus projects make, and how do you measure results?

The most common mistake is buying Plus for features you never configure, and the second is measuring only what Google or Shopify reports.

Mistakes we see

  • Building B2B rules before collecting the price sheets.
  • Letting two systems edit inventory, so they overwrite each other.
  • Stacking apps for checkout changes that one Function could handle.
  • Skipping redirects and URL mapping on a migration.
  • Judging ad return from platform reports alone.

How we measure

We track orders, conversion, average order value and wholesale share, then tie ad spend to revenue that actually closed. For a Shopify Plus brand selling customized products, 65 percent of July 2026 revenue came from phone or draft orders that Google never sees. Google reported 3.79x return. After matching phone transcripts to orders, adjusted ROAS was 4.94x, so Google understated by 30 percent.

That is our internal analysis, not a campaign result. The method is in our call tracking and attribution work, and it applies to any Plus store where buyers phone in.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Shopify Plus agency?

A Shopify Plus agency is a firm that designs, builds and improves stores on Shopify's enterprise plan. Good ones cover development, B2B setup, checkout customization, integrations and growth marketing. Front Row is a Shopify Plus Partner, and our developers are employees who do the work directly.

How much does Shopify Plus cost?

Shopify lists Plus at $2,300 a month on a three-year term and $2,500 on a one-year term. A variable platform fee based on revenue may apply, so confirm it with Shopify. Agency fees are separate and depend on scope: a migration, a custom build and an ERP integration all price differently.

What is the difference between Shopify and Shopify Plus?

Plus adds higher capacity, unlimited B2B catalogs, up to 200 inventory locations, custom user groups, certified apps and access to more checkout customization. Standard Shopify is enough for many stores. Plus pays off when wholesale, checkout logic or scale is the limit.

Can Shopify Plus handle B2B and wholesale?

Yes. Shopify B2B runs on Basic plans and up, with company accounts, locations, volume pricing, quantity rules and net terms in the same store as retail. Plus adds unlimited catalogs, catalogs assigned to one company and deposit requirements. We add custom logic where your price sheet needs more, such as capped discounts or rules that depend on mixed carts.

How does Shopify tiered pricing work?

You assign each customer group a price level, such as dealer or distributor, and they see that price after login. Price breaks lower the unit price at set quantities. We combine the two and show the breaks in the cart.

Do you use your own developers or subcontract?

Our own. Front Row has in-house developers who scope, build and support Shopify Plus work. We do not hand projects to outside shops. You get the code, the repositories and the credentials.

Can you connect Shopify Plus to NetSuite?

Yes, through NetSuite's API. We built a NetSuite-authoritative inventory sync for a Shopify Plus brand, with pending-demand accounting and drift reconciliation. We also convert Shopify sales orders into NetSuite import files. Scope depends on your NetSuite setup and how many locations you track.

Can you show estimated delivery dates at checkout?

Yes. We built an estimated delivery date at checkout for My Custom Golf Ball using a Shopify Function. The date logic follows your production and shipping rules, so it needs your lead times to be defined before we build.

How long does a Shopify Plus project take?

A focused storefront redesign usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. A full migration takes 8 to 12. Projects with an ERP, a custom app or omnichannel work run 12 to 16 weeks or more. Clean product data and fast decisions shorten every one of these.

Do you support the store after launch?

Yes. Clients can keep our developers on a retainer, with no minimum term, for fixes, new features, theme updates and integration monitoring. Because the same people built the work, they fix it quickly. We also handle the marketing side, including Klaviyo, Google Ads and attribution, if you want one team.

Is Front Row a Shopify Plus Partner?

Yes. Front Row is a Shopify Plus Partner, a Klaviyo Partner, a Google Partner and a Meta Business Partner. We have also been selling into retail since 1973, which shapes how we approach wholesale pricing and terms.
