Ad Creative & UGC

UGC Agency for Performance Ad Creative

We script, produce and cut UGC-style video and static ads for Meta, TikTok and YouTube, then hand your media team a test plan that ties each ad to sales.

The short answer

A UGC agency produces ads that look like a real customer shot them: handheld video, direct-to-camera talking, plain settings. Front Row writes the scripts, sources or produces the footage, edits it for each placement and organizes creative tests, so your Meta, TikTok and YouTube ads earn attention and can be tied back to sales.

What does a UGC agency do?

A UGC agency makes paid ads in the style of user-generated content. The ad looks like a post from a person, not a studio spot. That covers the idea, the script, the footage, the edit, the captions and the cutdowns for each platform. It also covers the test plan that tells you which ads work.

We deliver this through our design services team, next to the people who buy the media. That matters because creative is the main thing you can change once targeting is automated. When the person cutting the ad also reads the results, the next round of ads gets better faster.

We are honest about where we are. Our brand, design and web work is established, and our AI-assisted video work is newer. We tell you which parts of a project are proven and which are experimental before you commit budget.

Who Gets the Most From a UGC and Ad Creative Partner

  • Ecommerce brands whose Meta or TikTok results have flattened because the same few ads have run for months.
  • Manufacturers selling through retailers that need ad assets approved against brand and MAP rules.
  • Brands with a product that needs to be shown in use, such as sporting goods, tools or home products.
  • Teams that already buy media in-house or with another agency and need a steady creative supply.
  • Smaller brands that want to test video before hiring a full production crew.

Why it works

Why UGC-style ads still earn their place

UGC-style ads work because they match how people use the feed. A shopper scrolling Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts is looking at posts from people. An ad that looks like one gets a second of attention that a studio spot may not.

The style also answers a practical problem. Platforms now pick audiences with their own models, so the creative itself does most of the targeting. A clear hook tells the system, and the viewer, who the ad is for.

UGC style is not a guarantee. A weak offer, a slow site or a product people do not want will fail in any format. We say so early, because creative cannot repair a broken funnel.

  • Looks native in the feed, so it is less likely to be skipped on reflex.
  • Cheap to vary: one shoot yields many hooks and cutdowns.
  • Easy to refresh when an ad tires out.
  • Shows the product in use, which answers the buyer's first question.

Channels

One idea, three platforms: Meta, TikTok and YouTube

Each platform wants a different cut of the same idea. We plan the shoot once, then edit for where the ad will run, so you do not pay for three productions.

Meta rewards a clear product story and a fast hook, and it needs 9:16 and 4:5 versions. TikTok rewards a rougher, more personal edit with sound that fits the platform. YouTube gives an advertiser a skippable window, so the pitch must land before the viewer can leave.

Our Facebook ads agency work covers Meta account management, and our Google Ads management covers the campaign side of YouTube. We also manage TikTok ad accounts, scoped case by case, and many TikTok engagements start with us making the creative for your own buyer.

  • Meta: feed, Stories and Reels, with 4:5 and 9:16 versions.
  • TikTok: vertical, sound-on, native edit, creator-style delivery.
  • YouTube: in-stream, Shorts and bumper cutdowns from one master.

AI and production

Where AI helps, and where we still use people

We build with AI where it saves time without lowering quality. Our video process starts from a reference ad, generates shots with AI, then adds a script, voiceover and music. A person reviews and edits every ad.

We do not claim volume, and we do not promise that an AI-made ad will beat a human-shot one. We offer it as a cheaper way to test an idea before you pay for a shoot.

Real customers, real products and real faces still make the best proof. We recommend creator-shot video for anything that depends on trust, and AI-assisted shots for settings that are costly or impractical to film.

  • AI-assisted: concept tests, b-roll, product-in-scene shots, alternate backgrounds.
  • Human-made: testimonials, demonstrations, founder videos, anything with a claim to prove.
  • Always disclosed in the brief, so you know what the ad contains.

Design services

Design support behind the ads

Ads fail when the page they lead to does not match them. Our design team handles the surrounding pieces: brand identity, landing pages, collateral and the images a shop needs.

That includes Shopify theme development when the landing page needs a new template, and our work for brands like Archambault Criminal Defense and AMEK Design + Build, where we built the brand, site and photography handling.

We also run image tooling for catalogs: bulk resolution changes, product photo uploads and CDN links, so the right image reaches the right ad and page.

What is a UGC ad, and how is it different from influencer content?

A UGC ad is a paid ad built from content that looks like it was made by a customer or creator, usually shot on a phone and edited to feel natural. User-generated content is the style; the ad is that content put into paid media.

Influencer content is posted on the creator's own channel to their audience. A UGC ad is posted from your brand's ad account, so you control targeting, spend and the exact message.

Influencer postThe creator, in their voiceThe creator's channelAwareness and trust with their audience
Studio brand spotActors or staffYour ad accountBrand launches and big-screen placements
Static product adNo oneYour ad accountCatalog, retargeting, price offers

Most brands use a mix. UGC style tends to suit cold audiences, statics suit retargeting, and a studio spot suits a launch.

How does a UGC ad production process work?

A UGC production process runs in five steps, from research to a test report, and it usually takes two to four weeks for a first batch.

  1. Research the buyer We read your reviews, support tickets and competitor ads, and list the reasons people buy and the doubts that stop them.
  2. Write hooks and scripts Each script opens with a hook tied to one reason to buy. We write several hooks for the same body so tests isolate what works.
  3. Produce the footage A creator films the ad from our brief, we film it ourselves, or we generate shots with our AI pipeline. Which route depends on trust needs and budget.
  4. Edit by placement We cut captions, sound and length for Meta, TikTok and YouTube, and review each version against brand and MAP rules.
  5. Test and report We hand your media team a test plan, then read the results with them and brief the next round.

Our creative loop: research, script, produce, edit by placement, test, then brief the next round.

How much does a UGC agency cost?

UGC agency pricing runs from a few hundred dollars per video for simple creator-shot clips to several thousand for a managed program, and the spread comes from who films, how much editing is needed and how many variations you want.

Published market guides give wide ranges, and they disagree. Treat any single number as a rough benchmark. We quote after seeing your product, channels and volume, not from a rate card.

How do TikTok and YouTube ads differ from Meta ads?

TikTok and YouTube differ from Meta mostly in how the viewer sees the ad: TikTok is sound-on, vertical and fast; YouTube gives a skippable window; Meta mixes feed, Stories and Reels with a short caption.

  • TikTok: open on the person or the problem, never on a logo. Use captions and plain, spoken language.
  • YouTube in-stream: state who the ad is for and the main benefit before the skip button appears.
  • YouTube Shorts: treat it like TikTok, but plan for a broader audience.
  • Meta: write a hook that works with the sound off, then add a caption and a clear call to action.

Because the cuts differ, we plan one shoot with several edits. That keeps your cost per ad down and gives every platform a version made for it.

On the media side, YouTube campaigns run through Google Ads, which our paid media team manages. We manage TikTok ad accounts too, scoped case by case.

How do you test ad creative so you can tell what works?

You test ad creative by changing one thing at a time, running each version to enough spend to read a result, and judging it on sales or leads rather than views.

  1. Pick one variable: the hook, the offer, the format or the creator.
  2. Keep everything else the same, including audience, budget and landing page.
  3. Set a decision rule before launch, such as cost per purchase over a fixed spend.
  4. Log each result as a winner, a loser or inconclusive, with the reason you think so.
  5. Brief the next round from the log, not from taste.

Hook rate and thumb-stop numbers are useful for diagnosis, but they are not the goal. The goal is revenue, so we line creative results up with the order data your store or CRM holds.

Where the account sits in our reporting, we connect ad results to real orders. See our consumer brand marketing page for how we handle that for product brands.

How do you choose a UGC or digital creative agency?

Choose an agency that can show finished work, explain its process, name what it has not done yet and connect creative to results. Ask for those four things before you sign.

  • Ask to see ads that ran, not only portfolio reels, and what happened after they launched.
  • Ask who films: creators, the agency or AI, and what each costs you.
  • Ask who owns the footage and for how long you can run it.
  • Ask how the agency will read results and who sees the data.
  • Ask what the agency has not done, and notice whether the answer is specific.

A digital creative agency that also manages media is easier to work with, since the creative and the numbers sit in one place. A creative-only shop can still be a good fit if you already have a strong media buyer.

What mistakes make UGC ads fail?

UGC ads fail most often because they look good but say nothing, repeat one hook until it tires, or send viewers to a page that does not match the ad.

  • Over-polishing: a clean studio edit can undo the native feel.
  • One hero ad: with no variations, you cannot learn why it worked or why it faded.
  • No claim review: product claims, prices and MAP rules need a check before launch.
  • Weak first seconds: if the opening is a logo or a slow pan, the viewer is already gone.
  • Message mismatch: the landing page ignores the promise in the ad.
  • Missing rights: the creator's usage terms end while the ad is still your best performer.

How do you measure whether ad creative is working?

You measure ad creative by revenue or lead results per ad, backed by diagnostic numbers that show where an ad loses people.

Creative metrics and what they tell you
MetricWhat it showsHow we use it
Hook rate (3-second views)Whether the opening stops the scrollRewrite weak openings first
Hold rateWhether people stay for the pitchTighten the middle of the script
Click-through rateWhether the offer earns a clickTest offers and calls to action
Cost per purchase or leadWhether the ad pays for itselfDecide which ads to scale or retire
Revenue matched to ordersWhat the platform cannot see on its ownCheck platform numbers against store data

Platform numbers can overstate or understate results. We check them against your store orders or call data, using the same approach as our attribution work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a UGC agency?

A UGC agency produces ads and content that look like they came from real customers or creators. It handles scripting, sourcing or filming, editing and delivery, and often manages creator rights. Front Row also connects the creative to media testing, so you can see which ads earn sales.

Do you run TikTok ads, or only make the creative?

We do both. We make TikTok-ready creative for any engagement: vertical edits, captions, hooks and sound guidance. We also manage TikTok ad accounts, scoped case by case around your product and budget. If you have a media buyer, we hand over assets and a test plan built for them.

Can you make YouTube ads for us?

Yes. We produce skippable in-stream, Shorts and bumper cutdowns, and our paid media team sets up and manages campaigns through Google Ads as a Google Partner. We plan the pitch to land in the first five seconds, before the viewer can skip.

Do you use AI to make ads?

Some, and we are open about it. We use AI-assisted video for concept tests and certain shots, with a person reviewing every ad. We do not use it for testimonials or claims that need a real customer.

How long does a first batch of ads take?

A first batch of UGC-style ads usually takes two to four weeks from kickoff: research and scripts first, then footage, then edits by placement. Product shipping, creator availability and approval rounds can change that, so we agree on dates when we scope the project.

Who owns the ads once they are made?

That depends on the agreement, so we put it in writing. We set out who owns the final edit, the raw footage and the creator's usage rights, including how long and where you may run the ad. Ask for the term in months, not just "perpetual".

How many ad variations do I need?

Start with three to five hooks on one core message, and add formats once you see a signal. A small, clean test teaches more than a large batch of unrelated ads. Your spend decides how many variants can reach enough volume to be read.

Do you work with brands that sell through retailers?

Yes. Front Row has worked with retailers since 1973, and we review creative against brand and minimum advertised price rules as a standard step before launch. For co-op campaigns we can build approved asset sets that retail partners can use without rework.

Can you also build the landing page?

Yes. Our design and web team builds landing pages and Shopify templates that carry the ad's message through, so the page matches what the viewer just saw. We can also hand off specs to your developer if you prefer to build in-house.

What do we need to give you to start?

A product we can shoot or sample, your brand guidelines, access to your ad account or reports, and a list of customer reviews and common questions. If you do not have all of it, we start with research and tell you what to gather.

How do you price UGC and ad creative work?

We price by scope: footage source, number of edits, variations, usage rights and whether we also run tests and reports. We give a written quote after a short discovery call. We do not publish a flat rate because a clip and a program cost very different amounts.
