AI Automation Agency for Brands and Manufacturers
We build business process automation that reads the mail, drafts the work and fills in the systems, then puts a person in front of anything that matters before it goes live.

The short answer
An AI automation agency builds software that does repetitive office work: reading email, classifying products, drafting quotes and reports, and moving data between systems. Front Row builds these for mid-market brands and manufacturers, and every workflow that touches a customer or a price has a person approving the output before it goes anywhere.
What does an AI automation agency do?
An AI automation agency finds the office tasks your team repeats every day and builds software that does the first pass. That means reading incoming email, pulling the details out of a call recording, sorting thousands of products into categories, or drafting a report. The software does the grunt work, and your people check it. It is custom work built on your systems, which is why it sits inside our web development practice and not in a chatbot subscription.
We use two kinds of automation. Business process automation is rule-based: when a Shopify order closes, send it to NetSuite through its API. AI automation handles the work rules cannot, such as reading a messy customer email and deciding whether it is a quote request. Most useful systems mix both. The rules move data reliably. The AI reads, classifies and drafts, and flags what it is unsure about.
Front Row has been in sales and marketing since 1973, and we run our own operations on this software. Our client reporting, our product classification and our Salesforce-to-Odoo sync all run on automations we built and maintain. Our clients are mid-market brands, manufacturers and distributors, usually with a Shopify store or an ERP, and a team that is tired of re-keying data between them.

Who Needs AI Automation
- A manufacturer whose sales team re-types quote requests from email into the ERP.
- A Shopify brand with thousands of products and inconsistent attributes, colors or sizes.
- A services team that spends hours each week turning activity into reports and billing entries.
- A brand where most revenue closes by phone and the ad reports cannot see it.
- An operations team moving data between Shopify, NetSuite, Odoo and spreadsheets by hand.
Approach
The Person Approves, the Software Prepares
We design every workflow so the software prepares the work and a person approves it. That is how we run our own client reports and our product classification.
The reason is simple. A model can be wrong, and the cost of an error depends on where it lands. A wrong color tag on a product page is minor. A wrong price on a quote is not. We match the level of review to the risk.
- Low-risk, high-volume work gets a review queue where a person confirms in bulk.
- Anything that touches a customer, a price or a payment gets approved item by item.
- Numbers are calculated by code. The model only writes about them.
Where It Runs
Built Inside the Systems You Already Use
Our automations connect to the tools you have: Shopify, NetSuite, Odoo, QuickBooks, Microsoft 365 and Google. We do not ask you to adopt a new platform to get the benefit.
That is why we build custom software. An off-the-shelf automation tool can connect two apps. It struggles when the rules are specific to your products, your customers and your accounting.
- Odoo workflows such as AI quotes and mail classification.
- NetSuite API calls, import files, trackers and inventory sync.
- Shopify metafields, orders and draft orders.
- Google Ads, GA4 and Klaviyo data for reporting.
Data
Your Data Stays Where It Should
Some work is sensitive. When we built a call-attribution tool, we transcribed recordings locally and only escalated to a hosted model on spans the local model was unsure about. Card numbers were redacted before anything else happened.
We settle those questions with you in writing before we build.
Pairing
Automation Plus Integration Plus Reporting
AI automation rarely works alone. It needs clean data in, a reliable way to write results out, and a way to see what it is doing. We build those parts too, through our API integration services and marketing reporting dashboards.
If you want one team accountable from the inbox to the ERP to the dashboard, that is how we work.
What is AI automation, and how is it different from business process automation?
Business process automation is software that follows fixed rules to complete a task without a person, while AI automation adds a model that can read, classify and draft the way a person would. Most real projects use both together.
Rules handle the predictable parts
Rules work when the input is structured. A Shopify order has the same fields every time, so a script can turn it into a NetSuite import file. Nothing about that needs a model, and we do not add one. Rules are cheaper, faster and easier to test.
AI handles the messy parts
AI earns its place where the input is unstructured: an email asking for a deck quote, a call recording, a product photo. A model can read it and produce structured fields that the rules can then use.
| Rule-based automation | AI automation | |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Structured data and fixed formats | Email, audio, images, free text |
| Output | Same result every time | A draft or a best guess with a confidence level |
| Risk | Breaks when the format changes | Can be confidently wrong |
| Review needed | Spot checks and error alerts | A person approves before it goes live |
| Typical example | Order data to ERP import file | Email classified as a quote request |
Which business processes should you automate with AI first?
Start with a task that is frequent, boring, rule-heavy and cheap to review. If a person does it the same way every day and dreads it, it is a candidate.
Four tests for a good first project
- It happens often enough that a small time saving adds up.
- The input is digital: email, a file, a form, a recording.
- A person can check the output in seconds.
- A mistake is caught before it reaches a customer or the books.
Examples we have built
- A quote builder and mail classifier inside Odoo for a Minnesota deck and building-products manufacturer.
- A product color classifier that writes approved values to Shopify metafields, so shoppers can filter by color family.
- Reporting commentary drafted by a model from calculated metrics, reviewed before the monthly PDF goes out.
- A call-attribution pipeline that transcribes recordings and pulls out who called.
Our Odoo implementation work is where the quote builder lives, and our NetSuite and Shopify integration work is where the import automations run.
How does an AI automation project work from start to finish?
An AI automation project moves from one mapped workflow to a supervised pilot to a monitored production system, in that order. We do not start with the model. We start with the process.
- Map the workflow We sit with the people who do the work and write down every step, including the exceptions nobody documented. We collect 30 to 50 real examples.
- Choose what the software does and what a person does We decide the inputs, the outputs, the system the result lands in, and who approves it. This is where we set review rules by risk.
- Build the thin version We build the narrowest version that works on your real examples. Rules go first. We add a model only where rules fail.
- Run it in shadow The automation runs next to your people, and its output is compared with what they did. Nothing is written to a live system yet.
- Go live with a review queue Approved output flows into Shopify, NetSuite, Odoo or your reports. Anything the model is unsure about is held for a person.
- Monitor and tune We watch error rates, correction rates and changes in upstream systems, and fix drift before it becomes a problem.
How do you keep a person in the loop so AI mistakes do not reach customers?
You put a review step between the model and anything permanent, and you size the review to the risk. The model never gets the last word on a price, a payment or a message to a customer.
Three review patterns we use
- Approve each item. Quotes and replies are drafted, and a salesperson edits and sends them.
- Review queue. Product classifications are shown in a queue. A person confirms or corrects them, and only confirmed values are written to Shopify.
- Review before send. Reporting commentary is drafted by a model from numbers calculated in code. A person reads it before the PDF and share link go out.
Design rules that reduce errors
- Let code do the math. Models write about numbers; they do not calculate them.
- Capture a confidence signal and route low-confidence items to a person.
- Keep an audit trail of what the model suggested and what the person chose.
- Make the safe action the default, and make undoing a change easy.
How much do AI automation services cost?
Cost depends on the number of systems involved, the amount of exception handling, and the level of review you need, not on the model itself. Model usage is typically a small share of the total.
| Project type | Typical range | What drives the price |
|---|---|---|
| Single-workflow automation, rule-based | $5,000 to $15,000 | One source, one destination, clear rules |
| AI classification with review queue | $15,000 to $40,000 | Volume, categories, review interface |
| AI inside an ERP (quotes, mail) | $30,000 to $80,000+ | Pricing rules, ERP customization, testing |
| Multi-system automation program | Scoped after discovery | Number of integrations, security, scale |
| Ongoing monitoring and tuning | Quoted case by case | Number of workflows, change rate in source systems |
What else you pay for
- Model usage fees, usually modest next to labor.
- Hosting for the review tools and scheduled jobs.
- Maintenance when Shopify, NetSuite or a retailer's site changes.
Billing is hybrid and quoted case by case. We scope a pilot first so you see real results on your own data before committing to a larger program.
How do you choose an AI automation agency?
Choose the agency that asks about your process before it names a tool, and can show automations already running in production.
Questions to ask
- Can you show me a workflow you built that is live today, and who reviews its output?
- Where does the model stop and a person start?
- What happens when the source system changes?
- Who owns the code and the prompts?
- How do you handle sensitive data such as card numbers and customer emails?
Red flags
- A fixed list of tools before they have seen your process.
- Promises of full automation with no review step.
- No plan for monitoring after launch.
We are a Shopify Plus Partner and have built on NetSuite, Odoo and Microsoft 365. If your workflow touches a custom build, our custom web app development team owns that code end to end.
What mistakes make AI automation projects fail?
Most failures come from automating a broken process, skipping review, or building something nobody maintains. The model is rarely the problem.
- Automating a mess. If people do a task five different ways, the software will learn all five. Settle the process first.
- Letting the model do math. Calculate in code and have the model describe the result.
- No review step. The first confident wrong answer to a customer costs more than the project saved.
- No owner. Automations drift when the source system changes. Someone has to watch them.
- Ignoring exceptions. The odd order, the strange email format, the missing field. Plan for them or the queue fills up.
Scraping and monitoring automations have a version of the same problem, since retailers change their sites. Our web scraping and inventory monitoring work includes upkeep for that reason.
How do you measure whether an automation is working?
Measure the time a person spends on the task before and after, the share of output a person has to correct, and the error rate that reaches customers or the books. Measure before you build, or you cannot prove anything afterward.
Metrics we track
- Handling time per item, from a baseline sample taken before the build.
- Correction rate, the share of AI output a reviewer changes. A falling rate tells you the system is learning your data.
- Exception rate, the share of items held for a person.
- Downstream errors, such as quote revisions or import rejects.
Some automation also finds revenue that was invisible before. In July 2026, matching call transcripts to Shopify orders recovered $18.2K of revenue for one brand, and $14.2K of it was draft-order revenue that appeared in no other report. It is an analysis, not a campaign result, and we say so. Our call tracking and attribution page covers the method.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an AI automation agency?
An AI automation agency designs and builds software that handles repetitive office work using AI models and traditional automation. That includes reading email, classifying data, drafting documents and moving information between systems. At Front Row, the work is custom, connects to your existing ERP and storefront, and includes a human review step.
What is business process automation?
Business process automation is using software to complete a repeatable workflow without manual steps, such as turning a Shopify order into a NetSuite import file. It follows fixed rules. AI business process automation adds a model for the unstructured parts, like reading an email or classifying a product.
What are examples of business process automation services?
Common examples are converting order data into ERP import files, building weekly trackers from NetSuite exports, drafting quotes from incoming email, generating monthly client reports, and syncing inventory between systems. We have built each of these for brands and manufacturers, and each keeps a person in the approval step.
Will AI replace my office staff?
In the projects we build, no. The software prepares a first draft and your people review and correct it. The goal is to remove the typing, searching and copying so staff spend time on judgment, customers and exceptions. A process that needs no human check at all is rare, and we would not recommend it for anything involving prices or payments.
How do you prevent the AI from making mistakes?
We cannot prevent every mistake, so we design around them. Code does all calculations, the model flags what it is unsure about, a person approves anything that affects customers or money, and we keep an audit trail of suggestions and corrections. Then we track correction rates so we can see whether quality is improving.
Which systems can you connect to?
We have built on Shopify, NetSuite, Odoo, QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft 365, Google Ads and GA4, and Klaviyo. If your system has an API, a file export or a web interface, we can usually connect to it. We tell you early if a connection looks fragile.
What does custom AI software development involve?
Custom AI software development means we build the application around your process: the connections to your systems, the prompts and rules, the review screens, and the monitoring. You own the result. It differs from buying an AI tool because it is built around your data, your pricing rules and your approval flow.
How long does an AI automation project take?
A focused, single-workflow automation can be piloted in a few weeks. An AI feature inside an ERP, with testing against real quotes, takes longer. The biggest variable is usually how quickly your team can supply real examples and review early output. We scope timing after we map the workflow.
Is my data safe?
We decide with you, before building, what the model sees, what is stored and what is removed first. Sensitive items such as card numbers can be redacted before processing. We use access controls on review tools and keep an audit trail. Specific requirements, such as data residency, go into the project scope.
Can you automate our NetSuite or Odoo workflows?
Yes. We have automated NetSuite API and import-file workflows, trackers and inventory sync, and built AI quote and mail tools inside Odoo. For larger projects we pair automation with NetSuite and Shopify integration or ERP implementation work so everything fits together.
How do we get started?
Tell us the task your team dreads. We will ask for a few real examples, map the steps and tell you whether it is a good candidate. If it is, we propose a small pilot with a clear way to measure the result. If it is not, we will say so.
